All about the author
Hey Guys <3. My name’s Giada, and I’m an 18-year-old student who aspires to major in economics and finance in two years’ time. One thing that many people don’t know about me is that I love to write when I have the chance, so I recently had the idea of starting my own blog. But first, I’d love to tell you a bit about me.
3 years ago, my entire life changed when I moved to Italy at the age of 14. It was a traumatic experience, and I felt like my life had turned upside down: new school, new friends, new life. I remember that my biggest difficulty was starting at a new school, not because of the drastic change, but more so because I had to switch from learning in English to learning in Italian.
The worst thing about studying in a foreign language (especially when you’re not used to it) is that it’s way more difficult to understand the material, meaning you have to put in double the effort. In the beginning, I found myself studying for hours and not remembering anything, even to the point where I failed some of my exams.
Italian schools are challenging, as I still find myself taking tests and oral exams almost every day, which was extremely difficult in the beginning. That’s when I knew that I had to find a solution.
It took a lot of hard work and determination, but I managed to find a study method that works best for me, which got me from a C to an A* average. But how did I do it? Mind over Mess is a blog dedicated to answering that question.
School can be tough, and so are exams. This is why I decided to create a blog that has the purpose of helping others with their academic journey.
I wanted to create a blog that resonated with my journey and experiences. For this reason, i’ve decided to dedicate my website to academic matters, in hopes that I can help others with their educational path. Mind Over Mess is a blog dedicated to sharing tips that can help you during your scholastic experiences, which can hopefully give you a positive mindset on studying.
Update:
Mind Over Mess is constantly evolving: After having experimented with a recent article of mine How is AI being used to improve education?, I’ve decided to start writing articles on specific subjects, such as Artificial Intelligence and Finance. These articles are going to be written for educational purposes and to show others what i find interesting about these subjects. 🙂
